IU Violin Virtuosi to perform April 10

The Indiana University Violin Virtuosi will present a recital at 5 p.m. April 10 at the Ivan Wilson Fine Arts Center Recital Hall.

The Indiana University String Academy Virtuosi is a unique collection of violinists, violists, and cellists between the ages of 14 and 18 who perform as soloists and as an ensemble. They live in Bloomington and commute from as far away as 250 miles.  Their intense musical curriculum includes weekly private lessons, chamber music, theory, master classes, and Virtuosi rehearsals.  The Virtuosi have performed throughout the world including a Carnegie Recital Hall debut concert, five successful tours of France, and an enthusiastically received tour of Japan. String Academy graduates are performing and teaching throughout the world.  Students that decide to pursue other careers take with them a unique love and understanding of music that can only be developed over many years of study.

This event is free and is made possible through the support of The WKU Provost’s Initiative for Academic Excellence and the Department of Music.
