WKU has invited about 45 of its top scholarship applicants to campus Friday (March 26) to compete for the University’s most prestigious academic scholarship, the WKU Presidential.
The scholarship is valued at more than $14,000 annually and worth more than $60,000 during a four-year period. Approximately 15 Presidential Scholarships will be awarded.
In addition to demonstrating outstanding scholastic achievement at the secondary level, these applicants submitted personal statements, essays and letters of recommendation as part of the selection process.
Once the students arrive at WKU on March 26, they will participate in an impromptu writing exercise and a formal interview process. Additionally, students and parents will have the opportunity to engage in many academic-related activities while on campus.
Due to the high quality of the applicant pool, only the top students were invited to compete for this distinguished award. WKU is delighted to have students of such caliber on campus to participate in this event.
Presidential Scholarship recipients will be announced in early April.
