The Graduate Record Examination (GRE) is a standardized test required by most universities for admission to graduate school. Students frequently put off pursuing their master’s degree due to anxiety about taking this exam.
WKU-Owensboro is trying to put students’ minds at ease by hosting a free GRE Prep Course. Lewatis McNeal, WKU-Owensboro graduate advisor, explains that “many students see the GRE as a major obstacle in pursuing their graduate degree. Hopefully this workshop will alleviate some of the worry of taking this test and provide students with a good strategy.”
The class will meet from noon to 5 p.m. March 19 and March 26 at the WKU-Owensboro Conference Center. Study materials and lunch will be provided at no cost to students.
This will be the second year WKU-Owensboro has hosted the prep course. Last year more than 40 participants were in attendance. “Last year’s workshop was a huge success,” said McNeal, “We expect another large turnout because the workshop has proven very beneficial in preparing students to take the GRE.”
Participants are encouraged to register early, as seating is limited. Interested individuals should register no later than March 16. For information and to register, contact Lewatis McNeal, graduate advisor, at 270-684-9797.
