Imagewest wins four Markie Awards

Imagewest, the only student-run advertising and public relations agency of its kind in the nation, continued its winning streak at the 2009 Bowling Green Professional Marketing Association (PMA) Markie Awards.

Imagewest has been very successful at the Markie Awards winning several awards each year since 2004. This year the agency won a total of four awards.

“Imagewest is very proud to be an award-winning agency,” said agency manager Heather Garcia. “It is exciting for the students to be recognized for their hard work and being part of an award-winning team is something that sets them apart from other students.”

The ninth annual Markie Awards were presented Nov. 17 at the Holiday Inn University Plaza in Bowling Green. PMA created the awards competition so that Bowling Green advertisers and marketers could showcase their work and have an opportunity to be recognized.

Imagewest was the winner in four out of the 13 categories.

1. Best Website- Imagewest

2. Best Business Card- Fleischaker Greene Scholars

3. Best Television Ad- Imagewest- High Five To Five Years Video

4. Best Special Event- Imagewest’s Five Year Anniversary Celebration

The work that won awards was produced during the fall 2008 semester, spring 2009 semester and fall 2009 semester.

Imagewest works with local clients in the Bowling Green market as well as clients throughout Kentucky. The agency has expanded its services to work with out of state clients as well as traveling abroad for the past two summers to work with clients internationally.

Imagewest is in its sixth year of operation and has had more than 175 students participate in the agency and has worked with more than 150 clients.

Interns for the 2008 fall semester were: Josephine Beeler of Elizabethtown; Ashton Biggers of Glasgow; Tori Burton of Konigsberg, Germany; Lizzie Childers of Vernon Hills, Ill.; Adam Faragalli of Brentwood, Tenn.; Hayley Farmer of Hopkinsville; Michelle Graham of Hopkinsville; Maggie Hinklin of Louisville; Samantha Hughey of Crestwood; Matt Plappert of Louisville; Zac Stout of Louisville; and Trey Whitaker of Pembroke.

Interns for the 2009 spring semester were: Kelly Allday of Louisville; Sarah Bly of Louisvile; Tori Burton of Konigsberg, Germany; Justin Feldman of Alvaton; Kimberly Goins of Owensboro; David Gray of Paducah; Drew Hawkins of Owensboro; Maggie Hinklin of Louisville; Jessica Patton of Las Vegas, Nev.; Jordan Perciful of Louisville; Sara Taylor of Louisville; and Brooke Winebrenner of Louisville.

Interns for the 2009 fall semester were: Kristen Elder of Louisville; Rachel Koontz of Louisville; Chris Nation of Louisville; Michael Puckett of Louisville; Hannah Schuster of Houston; Rebecca Strand of LaGrange; Lesley Stringer of Somerset; Sara Taylor of Louisville; Mike Thaman of Covington; Hollye Westbrook of Alvaton; Kirstin Wilson of Elizabethtown; and Marissa Yennie of Franklin, Tenn.
