In conjunction with the Dec. 19 presentation of an honorary doctorate to Rep. Jody Richards, WKU’s Academic Affairs hosted a brunch/conversation with Richards and about 40 students on Dec. 18 at the Mass Media and Technology Hall gallery. The theme was Jody Richards and WKU: Working for Stewardship, Student Engagement and Public Service. The students represented several departments/programs on campus – communication, political science, journalism and broadcasting, leadership studies and student government. Richards addressed state education and budget issues, citizenship and social responsibility, his career in education and public service, and the importance of WKU to this region and beyond.
