WKU forensic team members traveled to Tuscaloosa, Ala., and Lebanon, Ill., to take part in two tournaments the weekend of Oct. 10-11.
Twelve members traveled to the Alabama Crimson Classic Tournament, on the campus of the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa, where WKU was crowned overall sweepstakes champion, topping teams from Florida State University and Tennessee State University.
Five members of the debate team also traveled to the Richard Hunsaker Invitational Debate Tournament in Illinois placing second in team sweepstakes.
Results from the Alabama Crimson Classic Forensics Tournament are as follows:
Khristan Solliday, a sophomore from Mitchell, Ind., tournament champion in impromptu speaking and tournament champion in communication analysis in the Crimson Classic portion; second in extemporaneous speaking, fourth in communication analysis and semifinalist in impromptu speaking in the Alumni portion.
Jerome Davis, a senior from Austell, Ga., tournament champion in dramatic interpretation and fourth in prose interpretation in the Crimson Classic portion; tournament champion in dramatic interpretation in the Alumni portion.
Maximilian Tagher, a freshman from Walton, tournament champion in extemporaneous speaking and second in impromptu speaking in the Crimson Classic portion; fourth in extemporaneous speaking and semifinalist in impromptu speaking in the Alumni portion.
Adam Bouchareb, a freshman from Lakeville, Minn., tournament champion in prose interpretation and second in communication analysis in the Crimson Classic portion; second in communication analysis in the Alumni portion.
Chelsea Harman, a junior from Hickory, tournament champion in informative speaking and third in programmed oral interpretation in the Crimson Classic portion; second in informative speaking and third in programmed oral interpretation in the Alumni portion.
Desiree Guerrero, a junior from Fullerton, Calif., tournament champion in persuasive speaking and fifth in communication analysis in the Crimson Classic portion; third in communication analysis and third in persuasive speaking in the Alumni portion.
Tatiana Mackins-Burton, a freshman from Burnsville, Minn., third in informative speaking and third in poetry interpretation in the Crimson Classic portion; fourth in poetry interpretation in the Alumni portion.
Adam Swanson, a senior from Rosemount, Minn., third in prose interpretation in the Alumni portion.
Jamaka Young, a sophomore from Burnsville, Minn., fourth in poetry interpretation in the Crimson Classic portion.
Amanda Waid, a freshman from Symsonia, fifth in dramatic interpretation in the Crimson Classic portion.
Michael Courtney, a junior from Mayfield, sixth in persuasive speaking in the Alumni portion.
