Engineering TV has premiered four video segments featuring WKU’s advanced manufacturing lab, which was recently integrated with new automation systems from FESTO. Once programmed, a robotic arm system from FESTO can transport material to a Haas mill, lathe and a 120-watt Epilog Legend 36EXT laser, independent of human interaction. The lab, part of the Department of Architectural and Manufacturing Sciences in Ogden College of Science and Engineering, is located in the Environmental Sciences and Technology Building. WKU students can design and build products in the $1 million computer integrated manufacturing cell. Engineering TV, which visited the WKU campus in early August, covers emerging technologies, best practices, new products, the latest developments, behind-the-scenes footage, and insights into the people at the forefront of design engineering. Here are the links to the Engineering TV video segments: Part 1, Part 2, Part 3, Part 4.
