WKU’s Office of Study Abroad & Global Learning welcomes the first Study Abroad Ambassadors.
Savannah Pennington is a sophomore with a double major in Broadcast Journalism and Theatre. As a member of WKU’s Honors College, Pennington strives to maintain her GPA while pursuing her other goals. A native of Madisonville, she is passionate about study abroad. In the Fall of 2008, she attended Harlaxton College in Grantham, England. In addition to traveling across England, she also ventured to Ireland, Scotland, Wales, Spain, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium, and Italy. Ask about her most exciting Study Abroad experience and she’ll tell you about the time that she traveled alone, across Belgium to Henri-Chappelle — to the cemetery where her great-grandfather is buried.
Senior Michael Tomasulo was born in Long Branch, N.J., the son of military parents. As such, he has traveled and lived in many places around the country and abroad. He grew up in Nashville, Tenn., before coming to WKU in 2003 to pursue a Religious Studies degree and an Asian Studies minor, and later added Sociology as a second major. In the Fall of 2008, he studied Korean history and society at Yonsei University in Seoul, South Korea.
WKU’s Study Abroad & Global Learning is committed to providing every WKU student the opportunity to add a global view to the lessons learned in the classroom. We serve the WKU community by engaging students, faculty and staff in diverse, educational, and cultural experiences through faculty led, exchange, consortia and other study abroad opportunities.
