WKU’s Imagewest students won several awards at the eighth annual Professional Marketing Association (PMA) Markie Awards.
Bowling Green advertising and marketing businesses competed in the recent Markie Awards at the Holiday Inn Plaza Hotel. The Markie Awards were created by the PMA to recognize work produced by marketers in the Bowling Green area.
This year’s awards featured 13 categories and received a record number of 85 entries. Imagewest’s students won six of the 13 categories.
“With each project, the students at Imagewest put in a great deal of time and care to make sure we meet the client’s goals,” said agency manager Heather Garcia. “It is a wonderful achievement when their hard work is recognized and they can add award winning to their resume.”
Imagewest is the only full-service, revenue generating, student-run advertising and public relations agency in the nation. Students work with clients within WKU, the Bowling Green community and surrounding areas including Nashville and Louisville. Recently, Imagewest traveled abroad to work with an international client.
“It is exciting to know that we are equipping our students with the proper tools to produce professional and quality work for real clients,” said Advertising and Public Relations Coordinator Cliff Shaluta. “At Imagewest, students are able to work on projects that will set them apart from other students. It gives them the opportunity to showcase their work that displays their distinction and credibility as a young professional.”
