Here is a list of WKU events and activities affected by wintry weather in the region.
Cancellations/postponements
Child care credential class: The Commonwealth Child Care Credential class scheduled to begin on Saturday (Jan. 31) is canceled and will now begin on Feb. 7. For information, call the Child Care Resource & Referral at WKU at 270-745-2216 or email ccrr.expert@wku.edu
Paducah program: WKU’s MSW (Master of Social Work) Program in Paducah will not hold the ACAT examination on Thursday (Jan. 29). The Paducah office will remain closed until power is restored. Students are advised to continue online work if able.
High School Leadership Conference: The WKU High School Leadership Conference scheduled for Friday (Jan. 30) has been postponed.Conference sponsors will attempt to contact school representatives to select an alternative date this spring.
Still on schedule
Spring Preview Day: The Spring Preview Day for minority students interested in attending WKU will be held Saturday (Jan. 31) as scheduled. Activities will be held from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. CST at the Downing University Center.
WKU basketball: The Lady Toppers will host North Texas at noon while the Hilltoppers will host the Mean Green at 7 p.m. Both games are at Diddle Arena. Before the men’s game, WKU will join with the Elizabethtown Food Bank to collect food items and financial donations for families and individuals in the region impacted by this week’s winter storm.
