Jack Hanes, WKU’s director of Educational Telecommunications, made the announcement Nov. 12 during a ceremony to recognize Dr. Anderson and his wife, Faye, for their $100,000 gift to create the fellowship that will allow students to gain hands-on experience with WKU’s public broadcasting program — a program he helped create during his 31 years as a faculty member and administrator. The endowment, when fully funded, will provide for up to three fellowships per year to allow students in the WKU School of Journalism & Broadcasting to work at WKYU-PBS and WKU Public Radio. Dr. Anderson and his wife are both WKU alumni; Faye Anderson also spent 13 years working for WKU. The ceremony was held at Mass Media and Technology Hall’s photo gallery.
